Paul Swegle, JD
Chief Legal Officer
Paul is a UW Law graduate and has served as general counsel and chief legal officer to 20+ companies across many industries, including health and medical software and devices, virtual health/telehealth, and remote patient monitoring. He has helped build and sell four companies to publicly traded acquirors, including one to Abbott Laboratories in 2020. He also helped take a company public in 2020. Paul began his legal career with the Securities and Exchange Commission and also served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney. He has been a leader in the Washington State Bar Association, serving twice as Chair of the Corporate Counsel Section and for three years on the Bar’s governing body, the Board of Governors. Paul’s books, Startup Law and Fundraising and Contract Drafting and Negotiation, are used in law and MBA schools around the world, and he gives frequent talks and interviews. FintechTV recently interviewed Paul on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange about SPAC IPOs. Paul is an adjunct law professor at Seattle U School of Law and Gonzaga School of Law.
